Traded my Protege 5.
Thought I would try to sell this to someone that will actually appreicate it.

Aux Mod Basic

I have replaced the standard jack with a direct soldered lead to a standard headphone plug. I also added a ground loop isolator that improved the sound for me. The isolator is easily zip tied into the area where a cassette deck would go.

How good was the audio on this thing? I assume its far superior to the radio ipod crap, but does it produce clear audio like a new CD?

I felt it produced excellent audio. It would really depend on your source in trying to compare it to a CD. I found it to provide a better audio input that a cassette adapter or FM modulator.

+2 on the same as CD audio quality. I have had one for probably 6 yrs or more without any ground loop or other mods and still use it with a 2gb MP3 playa on my 6 disc oem HU. Happy with mine, GLWS...............
