'06 Black Mazda 3s Touring
.......for an '06 3 5door to be specific

everywhere i go to check prices only list up to 2005 models

(looking for cat-back and cai)

nothing's out yet for 2006 model, and i'm not so sure the part numbers and parts themselves are gonna fit, as the placement of the engine IS different between the years

i called magnaflow and they won't even start testing for at least a month, which means even longer
so i can't really buy an '05 system from them and put it on an 06 as that would then void the warranty as "not supported"

i wanna get a CAI and have it delivered to me before dec 17th so i can do 2 runs on dyno day - before and after install

i'm also looking for sound clips of each brand of cat-back, but i run into the problem of dead links

(bang) (bang)

The 2004 and 2005 CAI will fit the 2006 Mazda 3. Im not to sure about the catback, I havent looked into one for mine yet. Wont it void your warranty anyways if you put after market parts on?

you SURE about that?

and no, so long as i don't crack open the engine and it's just bolt-on stuff, it won't void diddly

What do you mean that the motors have a different placement...Why would they do that if the motor and chassis are still the same?

park a 05 next to an 06 and pop the hoods

looks a lot different anyway

maybe it's just the covers or w/e, but it appears that one is farther forward than the other

actually thats not technically true....if there is ever a problem the dealer will 95% of the time turn you away if it's engine related. because if for SOME reason the CAI is the cause of the problem then you can say BYE-BYE warranty...sorry

of course, i could just put the stock stuff back on before i take in to the dealer and then they can't say s*** (thumb)

yea if u really wanna deal with that b**** they call a stock air box then more power to ya..im more of a DIY guy so i really use the dealer as a last resort if i cant figure it out or if my mechanic cant

i find it hard to believe that there is a difference between these models unless you were comparing a 2.0l to a 2.3l otherwise the aftermarket parts are all the same b/c there has been no sig change since 2004..... all parts will bolt up...

Virtually impossible to reinstall the factory exhaust, since it's all one piece and has to be cut to be removed.
