Autometer Cobalt Boost Gauge

Sacrilicious

boom boom!
:
Cosmic Blue MS3 of hawtness!
Mine gets here today, so I was wondering if any of you had one already and had any special pearls of wisdom to offer...:D I already have the install process all figured out (where and what to connect to in order to mount on the a-pillar), but I wanted to know if any of you had any special notes on where you mounted it, what is more convenient in general, what to watch out for, etc. =d

haha...ya, i'll take some pics today! :D the only thing that disappointed me was that the a-pillar pod color is black (not gray), so things look kinda whack...that and there's a bit of wire visible under the a-pillar pod...^^;

Too impatient to paint it first, eh? I know that feeling. "Once it's in, I'll know how it all fits. It'll be easy to take it out and paint it this weekend."
months go by... still black.

for real, man...^^;

one thing i didn't foresee about the install was that the T-splitter for the boost tube does NOT fit perfectly into the hose we splice into (running from our intake manifold to our BPV). i ended up wrapping a few turns of electrical tape tightly around the connectors to make the connection snug for now, but i'm going to get that fixed up properly as soon as i can. other than that, i have all the wires tied down and it all went pretty smoothly...nice and easy connections in the cabin, since all i had to do was splice into the power and ground wires of my V1...:D

Electrical tape? In the southeast they have something I never heard of up north. It's called "Tommytape". It looks like electrical tape but it is stretchy and sticks to itself amazingly well. If you can wrap it around something, there is nothing better for temporary (all right, sometimes long term) leak repair. I keep a roll right next to my duct tape, on top of the bailing wire.

I have Cobalt gauges right now. I like them, but now I'm trying to get something that matches my gauge cluster a little better. So, that means my gauges will be up for sale soon (Volts, boost, oil pressure).

The gauges were on the car when I got it. The volts gauge I have no use for whatsoever.

Back on topic, very good gauge. If you like the blue glow, you'll love the gauges.
