Automatic up/down windows

damnit, stop talking about your busted ass viper alarms (actually badass systems, just dont have $300 to throw at it) and tell us poor folk how we can easily add a window roll uppy downy thing to the extensive library of ghetto rigged mazda solutions that we keep on this lovely website (aka the HOW-TO section)

I don't think it's possible. I'll ask OrangeMSP to see if there's a way to do it with relays n stuff.

I highly doubt you could do it with our current switches, I'm pretty sure you'd have to go pillage a junkyard for switches off of a car that does have it. I'm not certain if there'd be compatibility issues as I'd assume that the switches would basically have a "normal" mode, and then if pressed further engage a circut that stays closed until a "breaker" of sorts in them that would open it again after a certain amount of resistance was reached. It's just a matter of how powerful your window motors are compared to those of the original car.

This aside, it may be possible to make up a circut board that accomplishes something like this which you could potentially "piggyback" with your normal system, but it might be a bit silly-complex. and of course you'd need to make seperate "triggers" somehow.

also apparantly I'm going to have to figure out how these window modules work, and figure how to tap into it and add a manual "switch" or 2 that I can possibly blend into my doorpanel.

Poseur is right about the current switches. The second position on the driver switch just starts a latching relay circuit that will stay engaged until it senses the current of the motor spike (which will happen when the window hits the top or the bottom). Chances are, this circuit wouldn't be THAT hard to make...but you'd still require 3-6 relays and a whole bunch of knowledge to make it happen.

Well if somebody sold kits I'd buy it, or if some geek with a lot of spare time wants to make a how to, I'd use it. It does seem like a lot of work though.
