Automatic tranny problems

hey guys i have a 02 p5 . the other day i take it to the dealer to check out a whinning noise in the front end and now they tell me ill need a new tranny . its inder warrenty but i only have 62,000 kms on the thing . also i have had the 4 rotors replaced , 2 rear cali[pers, pads all around replaced ,and the alternator .the brakes i under stand are a maintennce issue, but the tranny and alternator? any body else have these problems or is it just me .

Did you change the transmission fluid? I changed mine at 30K miles and it was filthy. I could actually feel the difference after the change.
 
My experience has been positive so far - none of the problems mentioned above.

Did the dealer give you any hassle to honor the warranty? If not, maybe it's a known issue (to Mazda).

Did you get the extended warranty since i thought the basic warranty is 3yrs and 60,000kms.
 
^^I think the basic in Canada is 80 000 km or 3 years on everything, 100 000 or 5 years on engine and drivetrain.

From what I understand you should change your auto tranny fluid every 30k.
 
nop never changed the fluid . i,ve had cars with well over 100,000 km,s add tranny was fine .the colour of the fluid seems fine !!

Maybe that's the problem. I heard Mazda auto transmissions are on the weak side.
