PerfectXtreme said:* Link edited...Let's try to keep info "in-house" by posting THE info/image instead of THE link...Thanks!
Assuming that link works... Thats a GREAT example of a good CF grill install. Painted! I won't get into what I think about the lip kit... maybe if someone painted it... but I doubt it...
CF is supposed to be a performance item... Light weight material to replace heavy metals... Lighter car = faster... Sadly it seems most are finding any little CF part they can slap on.. just to get the out of place, black and grey checkerboard effect...
The best looking CF body parts.. are those which are partly painted... so they blend with the vehicle at least a little... A few people have CF hoods, painted either on the middle section or the outter sections.. leaving a strip of CF showing... So much more professional looking...
Where exactly is the painted CF grill on that link you posted? All the pics are of unpainted grills.
..and you won't get into what you think of unpainted cf? You already did. Lighter = faster car I agree....how much does that system of yours weigh?
PerfectXtreme said:Umm... the first grill on the first page... right when you click on it... Look closely.... It is painted... Not completely... but looks really good....
If you look at the autoexe one.... It is completely black, from the tip of the hood, to the bumper just above the plate holder.... The one in the link I posted has painted parts between the hood and the black grill... Its also a different "setup" as far as how many lines in the grill it has...
Yeah I made a quick statement about what it is SUPPOSED to be used for... however I don't want to start a big thread fighting about CF parts and what people REALLY get them for in a lot of situations... 10 ounce CF grill doesn't do s***... CF Mirrors don't do s***... CF shift knobs don't do s***... but like I said don't wanna get into it)
My Speed6 weighs in at 3880 with driver... Not sure how much it is stock.. however 2 12's... and a ton of dynomat don't help.... Then again I woulda gotten an Evo MR if I wanted a light... and fast car =)
APEXistud said:The AutoEXE kit isn't an all-out performance mod. It's subtle but effective in separating a particular MS6 from other MS6's. Furthermore the lip spoiler is more than likely functional to some degree at highway cruising speeds. Like you posted in this thread or another, "not everyone has to like stereo equipment" but in the end it's not their car anyway so who cares what they think. What matters is that they respect someones choice.
I do disagree with the comment about the MS6 and the whole family thing. I think it's a little silly to blast someone to pieces because someone else may think that they have made a poor choice with their selection of parts. Saying that they're degrading the Mazdaspeed 6 family is probably the silliest statement I've hear on this board in a while.
So before blasting someone for their choice of modifications, just remember that they saw something they liked and wanted to put it on their car. Doing this doesn't make them a ricer or an idiot, it means that they're a car fanatic. If we want to voice an opinion, please have some tact and respect for another individual.
