As a Mazda owner (and racer) for the past several years, I want to let you all know about Mazda Competition Parts.

There are 2 aspects to this benefit to Mazda racers. To qualify for the program you must apply and provide proof of race results from at least 2 races in the past year. And you must (obviously) race a Mazda-powered car.

1. You can purchase race and stock parts AT COST!! This is amazing and has saved me hundreds so far for my RX-7. You can also buy the Fantastic MazdaSpeed parts designed by MazdaSpeed - Mazda's racing division.

2. Mazda Contingency Awards. If you race your car in sanctioned events (with the appropriate stickers on the car) and finish in the top 3 places (depending on entrants in your class) Mazda will award PRIZE MONEY!!

This is a great program and their webpage is here.

Check it out if you are going to get serious about racing, it is a great program.

Whoa, this is pretty dope....to bad I have a nearly bone stock P5, otherwise I would seriously consider entering the program. Everyone should check this out.

It will void your warranty

If you submit the two time sheets of the auto x that they request, they will know you have been racing. If your engine breaks anytime after that, you will be screwed. Racing voids your warranty. It's just something you should think about before you do this. Oh yeah, this is all old news.

Hey Ben,

Sorry if everyone knows this - I just saw some posts about autocrossing and thought that some of the newer Mazda owners might find it helpful.

Also, from what I've seen posted on this forum, racing would be the least of these guys worries for voiding the warranty. Posts about nitrous oxide systems, turbos, new intakes, removing catalytic converters, etc. would void the warranty as well - AND be much more likely to damage the engine.

Mazda Competition will know you have been autocrossing. This doesn't void your warranty. I called them about this before I signed up and they assured me that it would not void my warranty. The databases are not connected. The service manager won't be able to look up your Mazda Competition membership from his computer. They will take a lok at the danage and asses whether or not it is because of your harsh driving. You just can't go complain that your tires and brakes wore out at 10k miles. Autocross doesn't get to any higher speeds than what you do on the freeway. If that puts too much strain on the engine then it should be covered by the warranty. You also don't do a lot of shifting in autocross so it couldn't be the cause of any transmission problems. I think they'd be more concerned with some dude bringing in a toasted engine with a cheap NOS system that hasn't changed his oil in a year. Mazda is actually encouraging people to take their cars out to sanctioned events like Pro Solo and run them because it is, and has been for a long time, their target market. You just have to be more diligent with car care and replacing consumables like oil, tires, brake fluid, brake pads, coolant, shocks, etc.
I follow their recommendations in the manual for severe service on maintenance(actually I reduce the mileage on those by about 15% just to be safe).
Plus, if you stay in the stock classes you do no mods that would possibly void your warranty. Like any company, Mazda loves the free advertising.
