My time was 11:40am on Saturday. Event time was 1:40pm and 2:40pm. My first run was a 33, second run was 31.2, although somewhat unrelated, a crazy ex-girlfriend called me before I ran my last event, I was so pissed off I dropped 2 seconds off my time.Leigh said:Hah! a convert! You're doomed you realize? There is no getting out of it once you've caught the bug....
I was at this too BTW - what day did you run? I was there Saturday morning...
Every first sunday of the month we have an event. This month's is pre-empted by the national tour. If you want to see some really fast guys come out this next weekend to GGP, we get people from all over the country and spectators are welcome... its running both saturday and sunday. There's an SCCA event at the beginning of next month...pretty sure I'm going.
www.houscca.com - houston region website, they have a link to the novice handbook which should give you the basics on what to expect. If anyone can take me under their wing for an SCCA event, I'd be greatful. I don't really know much about "offical" events. I need a helmet, where can I get one?
I noticed alot of dirt/gravel flying around when I was running, I assumed it was like that for everyone. The pro time was around 27 when I went. Most people were at 33-35 second passes. The event names are a bit confusing because I'm not used to SCCA. What events can some random guy with a P5 run in? (first) I looked at the local SCCA site and dont' understand which are "closed" events for legitimate competitors.Leigh said:31.2? what was the protime at that point? One thing that's kind of annoying about running at GGP - it gets a lot of buildup on course pretty fast - I ran 10:20 & 11:20 & the course slowed a full second between sets.... did a 30.3 on my second run but hit a cone >.< damnit - I think I would have broken 500 too.
I did have the record on the racing line clinic for women's time though
Just goes to show I've got sections down... now I just need to manage to string a whole course together and I'll be kicking butt.

Next month they're running a novice school the saturday before the event. I'm not sure if its full yet, but you can e-mail the novice chief to check. 60$ for a full day of 2-1 instruction.
Cool, me and a friend might be going to Dallas this weekend to do it again. Time to pile into the wagon.03.5speed said:thats cool, i was in the 1:40 race on saturday also, & i'm right there w/ you. wanting to sign up for next autox. i ran a 29.9 on secon run. thinking about going to dallas this weekend, but really want to try autox
