Autocross in-car video from May 12

Grattan was a really cool track. It really takes a long time to learn because there are so many blind sections. I still don't think I got a completed well executed lap. Every one there is something I would call a mistake. Hopefully we'll be going back there again next year.
I ran a 1:33.1 which I think was pretty good for the car. It felt best with about 34 psi front and 35 psi rear (hot). It seemed to help the car rotate a little better.

WOW. that is the crazest track ive seen in-car from. There is some severe elivation change there. again very smoth for a first time track experiance. I can tell mine dives alittil more and pushes down into the corners alittil more. I will have to fix that, but man dont think I would want to go to that track with out some pass seat time.

Yes, you will need a transponder for TT. Regions will usually have a few transponders available to rent for the weekend. If they are still available, it should be an option on the registration page.

thanks. I am lookin into this NASA stuff and I think I need to rock a pass side seat to do the HPDE4 crap first b4 I can particapate in the TT(f) stuff. but it seems that you indeed make a lot more than I do since my racing costs are 1/4 of what yours are. soo maby if I dont buy a house next year ill be seeing you then. maby.

You will need to have an instructor sign off on you to get your TT license. You will need a passenger seat for that. How long that takes depends on your past experience and the evaluation on track.

yeah I read that too but still I have to buy another sparco pro2000 (not buying a pos for one day) and that my friend has no chance in hell this year since I am sitting in first place in EM of my club, and all I can think of spending money on is some slipstreams and paying off the CC for the tire purchase that I made.

but still IN LOVE with the NT01s. they have made my times at any track super consistent and definitely recommend them. I have also found because of the tires that I have had to re-learn the tracks since I have now found forth gear!!!!

I would talk to the chief instructor in that region and see if you can get a lead/follow arrangement where the instructor will follow you in his car. I know it has been done before. Also you would be able to use the stock seats for those sessions if it is possible with your car.

Glad to hear you like the Nittos. I'm still loving them as well. Can't wait to go to MidOhio this weekend and see what the car will do now that the alignment is sorted.

whelp.... I got first in my class in MC for the year. I also drilled in my suspension this year by buying one of those laser heat temp guns to read what my tires are saying. they are looking good now and are only getting stickyer.

I found good PSI settings and messed with my suspension settings until the car became neutral again and then adjusted my driving habits accordingly.

I also dropped the heavy rims that I had and went into Rota SlipStreams. HUGE difference! I lost 2 seconds at the track!!!! I am getting close to mustangs now. I think I need to start investing into motor now(drive2)

Congratulations.

I'll use this thread to update my season as well. I wrapped up my regional championship as well. 6 first place finishes and 2 second places.

The National Championships are in two weeks. I have been running 225/45/17 on the stock rims and will have those with me as well a set of shaved 225/45/15s on 15x8 Slipstreams. The gearing and reduced rotating mass should help me get quite a bit faster. So far I have been running 1:44s at MidOhio and I expect the fastest of us in my class to get into the 1:43s at nationals.

The thing that really surprised me was the grip does not fall-off with these tires like others I've driven. I ran one set all year till the last event (10 track days and 5 autocrosses) and they are only halfway through the usable rubber. I was only 0.2 seconds faster with the new tires!

good luck!!!!

yeah I have found that the tires are extreemly predictable and only getting better. I also choose these exact tire because of the price and tread rating. i hoped that they would last like they are, so I am happy.

thanks for the r compound sticky in this section. I sometimes mess up and its nice not to have flat spots on my tires. they do become supper greesy when I do f**k up, but thats to be expected.

I now have a rubbing problem, but I think ill try rolling the fenders this weekend before I get off to gingerman for the last track day of the year.
