Auto Exe Air Intake

Well...

cuz the other prob that im running in to is the fact that aem's cai doesnt work with the atx version of the mz3. so thats y im looking at the exe
...the Injen is the only application for the ATX on the 3 at this point for UNDER $300 USD. The AEM is for the MTX only and I was unaware of a SRI by AEM but someone on this thread said there is one. My 2 cents are the CAI is the only way to go on the 3. The temp in the engine bay gets to hot to show gains w/ a SRI. That is why the CAI is such a prevelently produced aftermarket mod. Da6 has a SRI/CAI unit. By adding a long pipe he is able to assess both units. You may PM him to ask his opinion re the SRI vs. the CAI.

To summerize: get the Injen for the ATX. IMHO it's the way to go, just don't drive it into your pool.

Wow, that looks very nice, not worth $900 IMHO, but you got a steal.
I certainly wouldn'tmind having one of those... I guess I'll have to start trolling ebay again!

Awesome deal, Slade! Good job, man! If I put an intake in there the Auto Exe is the one I'd want: it just has that OEM look about it that I want. Have you thought about dyno-ing it? Have you noticed any gains in performance?

im actually thinking about dyno-ing it some day, my friend thats big into imports said that now that i have both the intake and exhaust done i need to tweak the computer a bit to really see that difference. I have noticed some gains, the guy i got it from actually had both the Auto Exe and AEM intake and said the Auto Exe did better on the high way. I still havent had time to take it out maybe this weekend i will.

it was the AEM intake, he sold it cuz he had an atx so it hit the bolt, then he got this and sold the car a month later.

My intake does indeed have the tell-tale gouges from the ATX, so that must be it.

Thanks!

Auto Exe will show most of it's gains on an off road vehicle....the design is for a true ram air IE removal of left headlight assembly.
