so as many of you 2 owners know the drivers side window has an auto down and up feature. well the other day its alittle warmer then usual so i go to put the window down, push the button all the way but it stops... my auto down no longer works!?

completely confused and annoyed, i tried turning the car off and back on.. nothing. (pissed)

the window does go down just the auto feature no longer works so ill be contacting my dealership to see when they can look into this. ill update when i find everything out.

anyone else have a problem with this at all?

Come switch me relays I absolutely hate the 2's auto down....Ive owned 3 3's and 3 5's, but the 2's just drives me bonkers...it plays games with me when I just want to crack the window.

if you always manually hold the button down or up to close the window, it will "reset" itself after a while.

In order to get your Auto Down to work again, go ahead and hold the button all the way down for like 3-5 seconds...or maybe it's holding it all the way up for 3-5 seconds...

in either case, try both, window all the way up, then press all the way down and hold it, do it a couple of times and it should "reset itself" again to auto up and auto down

ill give it a shot thank you!

and fam i know what you mean... i constantly just go to crack it and it goes all the way down but comming from my old car that the driver side window didnt even work ill take what i have now lol

Well I know for VW/Audi this is the method for reset:
-When window is all the way up, hold down till all the way down
-Let go of button, then press down again
-Roll it all the way up
-Let go and then press up again.

i went all the way down and held for 5. nothing changed. held all the way up for 5 and it worked! problem solved. haha thank you Shaowq!

I actually really like the way the 2's auto-down works. Press the down button once, and it'll crack the driver's window just an inch (vent mode, meant for use with window visors -- totally a JDM feature), and press it again and it'll drop it the rest of the way. And I'm really happy to have the auto-up, our 3 doesn't even have that!

The driver's manual has a paragraph on this actually (why this could happen, and how to restore it):

NOTE

If the battery was disconnected during vehicle
maintenance, or for other reasons such as a
switch continues to be operated after the
window is fully open/close, the window will not
fully open and close automatically. Carry out
the following procedure to resume operation:
1. Switch the ignition ON.
2. Press the switch and fully open the window.
3. Pull up the switch to fully close the window
and continue holding the switch for about 2
seconds after the window fully closes.
