Aussie Dyno Ladder

:
2001 323 Astina SP20 (P5)
Since there are so many of us starting to mod the BJI and II's, Snert thought it would be a good idea to get a bit of a power ladder happening. I thought this was a great idea!

So post your dyno results here and i'll update the ladder

1. twilightprotege (94.3kw atw)
2. Snert (93.9kw atw)
3. ahb11m (50.3kw atw)

I have to admit my great idea came from knowing I could be near the top of the ladder

(wiggle)

Good idea guys, good motivation for us up and comers to get dynoed! Out of curiosity, what are the difference between snerts and twilights cars in terms of performance mods?

you'll love this - injen cai, awr header and 2.25" mandrel exhaust. and that's it.

here's a comparison between kurt and me. you'll see just how much richer my car gets (damn it)

ps, i dont know how much it would change if kurt had the same size wheel as me (he has the original 195/50/16 and i have 205/45/16 which is 1.9% smaller in diameter)

I must say that these dyno figures are really motivating me to do something soon

I m thinking that if you guys can get about 94kw atw i might me able to achieve about 100-105kw atw the wheels if i was to get:

-a set of Pace Makers and a full mandrel bent 2/1/4 system
-an injen cold air intake
-and a unichip

Please give me some feedback as if this is acheivable as id love to be high on the australian ladder for NA aspired 323's.

not in oz. we have obd-I and the interceptor style unichip works fine

tidy you will definately get to 100kw atw with tuning i am certain of it

yeah a few have the unichip. one guy with a cat back (1.8) only got 1kw atw - me thinks dodgy tuning, another got 10kw (2.0)

hmmm makes me wonder what a yanky doodle car would run like with our ECU...
then i stop wondering, and decide its easier to laugh at them !!!! (sorry!!!)

ahb11m, that sig still makes me crack up every time i see it...

twilight, dunno if this is a dumb question, but why is your car so much richer?
also i assume both dynos were done in the same gear?

as for the tyre sizes, i would think that smaller diameter tyres would give a higher torque reading at the wheels. but i dunno how it would affect the kw readings, as that depends on how they measure rpm. do they measure engine rpms based on your ecu or based on your tyre diameter and gear ratio?

the rpm/speed is measured by wheel speed. so with me having slight smaller wheels, i get to redline slightly quicker, which the graph says.

as for it being so rich - a few possible reasons (can never be sure until ecu tuning).
1. unburned fuel is getting into the exhaust due to valve overlap (not likely though, it should be richer at low rpm and get leaner)
2. the ecu is stupid and knows i am getting heaps of air, but puts in way too much fuel
3. ignition isnt burning all the fuel
4. the ecu already runs very very rich

well since i don't technically have a protege, but i do have a 323 familia gtr with 165kw atw on 15psi, now all i have to do is get the dyno sheet scanned for the proof.

hey there everyone...
i currently won't have an up to date dyno chart for another week but my early early turbo dyno was at 138.9kw atw and i know that bora's latest dyno was around 200.3kw at only 20psi so i'll have to wait and see what 32psi does...
