audiolink ipod question

I just finished installing my new audiolink with ipod adapter. I've got a few dislikes but nothing major considering you can control the ipod with the steering wheel controls. My only main gripe is the fact that the extra 1/8 plug is not as long as the main ipod wire. I'm gonna need to get some type of extension for it. Anyways on to my question. Does anyone elses ipod remain charging even after turning the car off? I'm worried that if I leave the ipod plugged in overnight I may kill the battery.

I don't think it will drain the battery but I can't speak from experience. I just PMed someone who I know has one...hopefully he'll respond here for you.

I never left the iPod in the car for more than two days, so I don't know what the long-term drain is.

I regularly leave it in while at work (8-12 hrs), and overnight after getting back from work (12-16hrs), and have never had a problem. (I leave it overnight almost every day). I think at some point, the iPod stops charging (once it's full). Even then, the current drain is very low.

Thanks Oleg! PS, we've got to get together for some tuning! I threw my DLS domes in the car (on the floor) and things are sounding better now.

Thanks for the assist chuyler.

Thanks for the info astral. I was thinking the same thing. If I remember correctlly I think it does stop charging. I left in plugged in overnight last night and the car started up just fine. I guess I'll leave it as is and see what happens later on. I just hope that if something happens it happens before I leave for some place and not while at some place. :)

The factory one does not allow you to use your iPod's controls, the AudioLink adapter gives you the option to do both.
