Hi guys,

I remember seing a thread talking about the "Audi Style" LED strips, but cannot locate it.

My question.. Did anybody installed these strips before? I find them pretty cool and ordered 2. Unfortunately, one was not the same color as the other one, and I'm waiting for the replacement that should arrive any time soon.

So... If you have any idea on how to install them and where would be the better spot, I would appreciate!

If you can help, I am attaching a picture of the front side of the 5 and a picture of the LED strips. (You will see that both LEDs are not the same color)

Hey, your going to need to bake your lights and separate them. after that you could probably use tack silicone to position then. wiring right into a switch or whatever you wanto to turn them on or off.

Ive seen it done on a mazda3, looks hot, that was a mod i was thinking of doing myself during the summer. when you do it, post some picks.

good luck!

hey i found that thread i posted on cause i found something just like those.
here it is http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123731587

sor sure, the m5 would look hot with those. I have eyelids on my lights so i would have to put them at the bottom. was going to do demon/cats eyes, but cclf vs led... hands down for led.

Thanks for the tips, guys.

Since I have a hard time to cook at home, I'd be afraid to "bake my lights"!!! If you see what I mean...

And since I need to bring back the vehicle next february 2010, I was wondering if there would be either an easier way to put them around the headlights (externally) or simply elsewhere in the front. What do you think? And how can I do that?

there really isnt alot of room to put it around the light, you could try at the bottom between the bumper and the headlight assembly, but i dont know how much light would get through.

Well, if the car is a lease, then yes, wouldnt do this, but you can also do the same with a heat gun. which is what im thinking of doing... then you can bake it to make sure everything is sealed up...

What I thought, was to use silicone to "glue" them to the bottom part of each headlamp. I just don't know how strong it is... As for the space between the bumper and the headlamps, it is nil... No space there! I'm telling you!

The other option, would be to put them right under the bumper, under each fog lights.... What do you think?

are you guys serious about this???? Why would you try to copy something that is Audi's style and put it on our cars so it will look like every other f...ing civic out there. Why not come up with something totally new and make it a mazda unique feature?
just my .02

i saw an evo with it.. looks badass!

yeah dima, such a spoil-sport. i like the idea. I wont do it untill i mock it up in PS, no way im going to bake my lights only for it to look like s***.

Athough i like the cat/demon eye mod too. the LED strip would fit nice in our light assembly.

But, your right in the end Dima, it is a copy, but at the same time, no mazda5 ive seen has it... so it would be "new" to the m5. Rice or not.

The border between nice and way over the top is a fine line.

i think that it is totally poser too....but hey, its your car.

i think they belong on audi only as well. there is a cx7 on here with it done and i think it looks dumb.

Holly crap, guys.... I have seen Mz-5 smoked tailights (just like civics), big sound system (just like civics), modified AM/FM "shark style" Antennas just like B-Mers... And nobody complained about it!

Sorry if some of you thinks that its a Audi Copy... I simply like the idea and as somebody said earlier, no Mz-5 have them!

To each of us, our own opinion!

I surely don't want this tread to become a "one against other" type-of-thing.

Thanks for your input. I appreciate it.

yeah. i don't have a 5.. i have a protege.. and a msp.. but regardless..

I was thinking of doing amber LED turn signal strips at the bottom of the bumper in my fog light enclosure, since I don't have fog lights in my Corolla, and turn the OEM front turn signals into plain non blinking parking/side marker lights. Copying the Audi white LED driving lights thing is meh... like how ricers copied the BMW halo light thing, but there are other things you can do with it.
