There is a Car Show here in my area on Sept. 7th. there will be the following events:

Miss Street Wars (bikini contest)
U.S.A.C. Crank it up contest
Battle of the Bands
Tailgate BBQ contest
Radio Toss contest
Swap Meet, Door Prizes, and MORE!!

its at the fair grounds a few miles from my house....and not that far for all you guys from houston.....here is the flyer that is posted all over town, the event gates open at 9 a.m. I hope that some of you will come down....if you want to....drop me an e-mail if you would like some GOOD directions to get here....just let me know where you are at...and I will fix you up.

AND...if for some resaon we get there...and its not what we expected.....we can always go back to my place and hang out.

who the heck said you have to SHOW your car, I'm not...just going....I would just love to have a bunch of us all go....maybe even meet at my house and caravan to the fairgrounds...which is all of about 6 miles from my house.....that would be cool all showing up at the same time. The people around here wouldn't know what to think if about a dozen of us came rolling up in our P-5's and MP3's....lol they would think they were being INVADED!!! LOL

that is my thoughts too...and seeing as how I have never been to one of their shows...I thought it wise to put in that disclaimer in the first post.....for me its not a big deal....its only 15 minutes from my house....

course if we had a BUNCH of guys going....we could have our own MAZDA display and show them ALL up!

not the front yard....you might be bothered by the racoons or armadillo's at night...but the back yard is safe...its 3/4 of an acre...or you can throw a sleeping bag on the shop floor just in case it rains...lol :{D


OH YEAH....I called and spoke with the guy that is organizing this....I know him...he owns the main sponsor for the thing..ANYWAY....he told me that he has already gotten close to 100 cars preregistered for the show.....all kinds. The trophy's will be handed out about 6:30....but the whole thing goes till 9pm.

well I figure as long as the weather is decent saturday...I will probably spend the biggest part of the day there...probably go over before noon sometime...depends on when anyone else shows up or when I wake up! lol and I will certainly be there till dark or so I would imagine

IF you read the flyer that I put up in the FIRST post....it states..

FREE ADDMISSION.......IF you were to want to enter your car in the car show....that is $20.

NOW for the bad news....well if you want to look at it that way....

the weather prediction for the weekend now stands at 40% chance of rain through Sunday.....that is pretty high and usually a REALLY good chance it will......the bad part about that is that the MAJORITY of this event, including the car show...is OUTSIDE!! GRRRRRRR.

jdm.....WHERE exactly in houston are you? to give you an idea of driving time.....from downtown....as if you were on 59 at the George Brown Convention Center/Minute Maid Park area.....the driving time to here is right at ONE HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES. and the easiest and fastest way is go come down 288 if your are in the part of town where you are closer to 288 verus if you are truely on the south part of town...its better to go down 59 south. either way the diference in mileage is within a few miles of each other.....just that 288 tends to be quicker.

from where you are at I would come down 288....its a bit faster...and right at 85 miles.....there abouts....the fair grounds don't have an actual mailing address to use with like Yahoo Maps....however...there is an appartment complex right across the street and their address is 2901 Hammon Raod. Bay City, texas 77414.....

IF you will send me an EMAIL at jmh_jr@hotmail.com I have driving directions with all the particulars of the route typed up at home in a notepad file...I will shot them to you if you want.

Oh yeah, it says "Free Admission" right under the "Wars" part of the sign right near the top.

YES.....I would pass on the racoons....but if you are careful cleaning them...and BBQ them...Armadillo are really good. tastes very similar to BBQ'ed pork.
