Whats up everybody? Well I killed my motor this week! I blew a hole in the cyl 1 piston, melted the spark plug, blew the head gasket, and trashed enough of the internals I have a handful of metal pieces in my collection pipe mesh. But I was wondering if anyone could answer any of these questions:

1) Has anyone did the FS-ZE motor switch? do I need a new ECU? How compatible are US-spec parts with the FS-ZE? Are there any other problems with the switch?

2)Does anyone know of any brands of forged pistons? rods? valves? or any other internal components I would need to rebuild my motor with serious guts?

3)If I rebuild, Im gonna bore out to 2.2L, anyone else done it? or know anything about it? any problems?

Thanks everbody for your time, and any info you can give. Or if you have any other ideas to save me, what are they. Thanks again. Later.

search search and search. every question you have asked has been thought out and discussed at least ten times. its not that i dont want to answer you, but trying to tell you about each thing and answer each additional set of questions im sure youll have will take forever. just search.

1) member LinuxRacr did the FSZE swap and for the most part it turned out to be a waste of money, little to no gain. To eke the most power out of it you would need the ECU.

2) JE pistons, Pauter Rods (www.fmprotege.com), the crank is already tough as nails.

3) why do you want to bore out the engine? better question, how did you blow it?

For the record, I've never seen anyone run nitrous safely on this car, not on this forum, regardless of setup. pdhaudio, linuxracr and a few others can attest to that :(.

if you are looking for a low mile engine on the cheap, I would check www.car-part.com . After mine went kaboom, i found one there with less than 20k miles for 600 dollars in flawless shape.

i read somewhere on this forum that boring out this engine wouldn't stand to give you many gains without serious tuning (standalone ems).
