Ok folks,
As you probably read in the gauging intrest thread posted by Kevin we've been planning an "around the island" cruise.
Based on the inputs I've gotten from everyone in terms of availibility this is what I've come up with:
On Sunday July 25th meet up at the park in Waipio @ 11:00 and light up the grill for a quick BBQ. This will give everyone a little time to get gathered up and get everything figured out. The BBQ will be a small one, just like burgers, dogs, chips and soda. (Less stuff to clean up.)
After we've packed up, I'm thinking 1:00, we'll get lined up and roll out for the cruise. We haven't set the course up yet, but since we'll already be around Waipio it would make sense to take H2 towards Schofield Barracks and then jump on Kam and follow it up around the North Shore. We'll get the course set prior to the cruise and draw up a map and make copies to hand out at the BBQ.
From there on we'll have a few predetermined locations to stop and allow anyone who got hung up by a traffic light or whatever to catch up. While there we can take some pics, stretch our legs, hit the restrooms, etc. One of the locations (probably the last) will be someplace we can grab a snack/dessert. After that it will probably be late afternoon heading into early evening, so we can break it off there. Maybe, if anyone is game at that point some of us can hit someplace for dinner.
Obviously, none of these plans are firm. But, I wanted to get a basic outline laid out and hopefully confirmed by tomorrow night so everyone will have a chance to see if there schedule will allow them to attend. I know some people may have to put in at work to get that day off.
Now, I need input from all of you as to whether or not this schedule will work, ideas for the route and places to stop. So, please feel free to post any ideas or inputs you've got.
Hopefully, we'll also have the first batch of M-SPEC T-shirts available to buy at the BBQ. Ash is getting those ready to crank out. If we're really lucky we might also have the M-SPEC vinyls available at the BBQ also. I'm gonna run down to the shop on Monday to get those rolling. So, watch this forum for threads on those.
One final note from me. I don't really think I have to worry about this with anyone who will be attending, but just in case. This is a club event so the actions of one individual will naturally bring attention upon the entire club. In other words, while on the cruise, let's keep it safe. Who ever is in the lead will be going the speed limit and will be stopping at yellow lights to avoid seperating the group. But, if you do get seperated from the crew, please don't speed and pass traffic to try to catch back up. That is why we will have the stopping points to make sure we can keep everyone together.
This should be a good time and I hope as many members as possible can make it. As always, all the guys in Team Pro 5 are more than welcome to join us. I look forward to seeing you on the 25th.
Thanks,
Lang
