At Last

I am now the owner of a 2014 Mazda CX5. Red with sand interior. Bose/sunroof package. Drove it home in the rain tonight. I see it may take several days to unravel the electronics. My great 2007 CX7 was much simlpler. Will update the group as I learn, if anyone interested. I expect no more snide comments from those who didn't like my CX7 which carried me for ~ 70,000, trouble free miles. Ed

I've had all three versions of the CX's and they all are great. The CX-5 is very manageable, smaller, not as quick, but handy and great looking. I think it is much closer to a SUV than a CUV. The CX-7 is quicker, sportier looking, not as comfy in second row, and much more of a CUV. The CX-9 is luxury in my eyes, big, a tank, great smooth/soft ride, but too much car for driving alone. They're all great though!

The CX-5 shares its chassis with the new Mazda 3 and 6. It's the very definition of a crossover!(uhm)

I hear you, yes, but the CX-5 seems taller and more squared than the CX-7, more like an SUV, whereas the CX-7 seems lower and more elongated or aerodynamic, closer to a car. It is just my perception, though.

Send a picture through the window -- I would really like to see what the red color looks like with the sand interior. I got the zeal red with the black interior and I'm really curious how it would compare.
