AT Error Message

hello my name is john.
I have a 2005 Mazda 3 s, the car has a yellow error message in AT in the dashboard. the car does the following when I'm parking (P) and put it in drive (D) the yellow light comes on indicating the AT and the message appears with speed 4 and sometimes changes the speeds to 2 or 1. strong sound when the car suddenly begins.

Just my experience...take it for what it's worth, but recently had the same problem. In my case it was the shift control cable that needed replaced, might give you a place to start looking.
