If you go to the range that often, you ought to look into a competitive shooting club like IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association, www.idpa.com ). I've been shooting with them and the GSSF (Glock Sport Shooting Foundation) for about 5 years now... It's fun stuff! Lately I've been shooting the reactive steel targets, and I am starting to really like that... I need to start re-loading .40 ammo, but alas, I am too lazy...

As far as the Law Enforcement Qualification test, try shooting with your off-hand for the entire thing. That's an eye opener...

Jeez, I guess I just got the bum end of the deal in Maryland. There is a 7 day waiting period on handguns and you can only purchase one per month. There is a loophole to the one a month if you fill out a collector's form though. I haven't done this because I don't really want the state police having any more info then they really need.

I go to the range about once a week as time permits. As for .40 ammo the best deal i've found without reloading yourself is www.precisionammo.com They sell .40 for $7.50 per box of 50 and they have free shipping if you order more than 10 boxes. It's remanufactured ammo, but it's good stuff....all Winchester and Speer brass. I wish .45 ammo was more affordable too because I love shooting my CZ 97B.

Well, just when I thought it couldn't get any deeper, I find out that another friend's ride (Pacmanmp5) had his car keyed. I was on my way to the carshop to work out my final payments, when I noticed his P5 at his job, which by the way is featured in the latest Import Expo Mag and Import Tuner. On the way back I stopped by to say what's up. I tell him about what has been happening, and he tells me someone keyed his s*** too! :wtf:

Sorry for the late response, guys, I was gone all weekend. Yeah, I tried shooting off-handed. If I finagle it so I'm shooting off-handed but dominant eyed (it looks hilarious) I can do okay. But off handed weak eyed is almost laughable. I am not rich enough to have a Glock (unless you buy one for me). I have an accurate and reliable Ruger 9mm, one of their nicer models (not those little .22 POS's). When I was younger I had what is still my dream gun. A Glock 19 with a 30-round extension clip that was set to fire in single, 3, or 5-round bursts. So I had a "six shooter" Glock that was putting out 5 rounds at a time. I also had several pre-ban 15 rd clips that were perfect for the range. Actually, after shooting both my 30-rd clips in quick sucession, that gun was HOT.


On a side note, Pat will not be able to remove Sapril from his life for a while. First of all, there's the kid thing. No doubt Pat loves the kid very much, but it is very hard (as all single parents can attest to) to care for a kid alone, and there's no guarantee you will find someone who will care for the kid with you (spouse). Second, it is a wierd sort of addiction/attraction here. With someone like Sapril in one's life, one has a scapegoat or at least another somebody to focus on. You can ignore your other problems, etc. i dunno...............
