I HAVE A 2003.5 MAZDASPEED PROTEGE, THE MODS I HAVE ARE CAI, COLDER NGK PLUGS, DUAL PORT BOV, TURBO XS MBC, JOE P FCD, CUSTOM HARDPIPES, AND I WAS WONDERING WILL RUNNING 12 PSI EVERYDAY BE OK WITH THESE FEW MODS. OR IS THERE MORE I NEED TO DO FIRST? ALL ADVISE IS APPRECIATED...THANX (mp3yellow

I'd get rid of the stock exhaust before going up over 10psi. A FMIC would also be a good investment. But exhaust is first.

Also, please don't type in all caps. It's considered shouting.

I agree completely. (yes)
You're gettin greedy going for 12 psi with stock exhaust and IC. (no)

I would keep the boost below 10psi until you get at least a downpipe...and preferably a downpipe and an upgraded IC.

Also is your premium gas 93 octane? If it's less than 93 I wouldn't go as high

93 octane

yes i only run the high octane fuel, any advise where to get a good downpipe..i'm new to this, just started tunning my speed 3 weeks ago, so alot of this stuff i don't know. (dunno)

Apex motorsports in AZ has a really nice DP for the MSP and for the FMIC kits I believe there are three offered now?
ion motorsports out of canada, wagner motorsports and hiboost offers a FMIC kit also.

forged internals would be a plus if you ever go over 12psi, or they would be a safe bet at any boost really.

then don't crank up the boost. get your bolt-ons covered and by then you will probably have learned more about your car. you still haven't addressed the 2 largest "problems" with it yet: cooling the intake charge air and allowing the turbo to breathe freely.

at 12psi, you need tuning not internals. its the damn truth.

Don't think that you can throw a bunch of parts at your car and turn up your boost. Read a round a little more and learn more how it works, then you'll be better prepared to "tune" your car. The MSP's can be a pain to a novice. You do, however seem to be on the right track.

id say ur fine..but would still be good to get the downpipe.

an engine can still blow if it is forged. fuel management and observation is the most important mod for your car.

i say mpi tuner, or haltech, or aem stadalone and a wb02. then you can up the boost accordingly.

would definitely be better...but not a nessecity for runnin 12psi and under
yea you don't NEED it, but it'd help out alot. unless you're just plain crazy like DS!! 87oct + T76 + 28psi + stock ECU = fun!!

i still worry about my motor at 12 psi and supporting mods. 12.5 isnt exactly the safest afr uptop (4500-6500 rpms)
