Are the Polished Wheels Clearcoated?

I have the polished wheels on my P5 and they are looking a bit dull, probably from the winter here in MA. Anyways, I happen to have can of "Mother's" brand wheel polish kicking around and I was thinking about trying it out but I'm not sure if it's safe to use or if the wheels have some kind of clear coating. Does anyone know? Thanks.

I'm fairly sure they are clearcoated.

Yeah, they do have a layer of clearcoat.

Cool. I'll skip the polish and just scrub them with a brush.
