Are all Mazda shift knobs interchangeable?

uh, yes. miata, protege, rx8 and mazda3 all share the same thread pitch 10x1.25mm

not sure of the 6, but its probably likely.

I have a shift knob from a Mazda 3 in my 99 Protege, and it fits like a glove. Like said above, most Mazda models are interchangeable.

(hah) noob.

hardly....

but actually I just read the thread title, that was my fault

and if you think they are ALL interchangeable try putting those knobs on my MP3 shifter

or an MSP shifter

So does anything fit the msp shifter?
yes, TWM shifters do, only when you order them, you have to mention for what car (make and model) you want the shifter threads to be made for.

the only shift knob that is different is the mp3 ones. all other mazdas are the same as far as i know. i ordered a greddy shift knob for a "mazda" and it fit my mazdaspeed no problem. didn't special order it or anything. i dont know why they made the mp3 different. its annoying.

Maybe I'll just order one to find out for sure. It seems like I'm getting mixed thoughts on this one.

The OEM Protege shifter just screws right off, correct?

We have shift knobs for the MP3 and the MSP thanks to our new NTIS technology which gives all of our knobs the ability to fit M8 threads all the way up to M16 threads.

To give you an idea of how height adjustable our knobs are, here's a picture of a gun blue bombshell installed in our WRX, it can be moved up and down by about 1.5 inches. All of our shift knobs allow for approximately the same degree of height adjustment, have a look at our Shift Knobs Website for different knob designs.

You'll love the knob in the end. (no pun intended)
