Anyone with Spool Stage 1/2 kits?

Potential Scammer!
to anyone that has the Spool stage 1/2 kit. do you have any pics of the engine bay? (preferably ones that show how the charge pipe bolts up). also looking for how you guys fabbed up your lower radiator hose and how your downpipe is installed. having some clearance issues with the charge pipe hitting the hood (newer design with BPV flange located on top now instead of on the side?? and turbo inlet side 45 degree bend instead of 90??).

any pics or help would be appreciated. need/want to get this thing to get up and running. :(

thanks

this should help with the radiator hose. . .not trying to pimp this thing, but it does make a big difference. . .there are only a few out there, because I couldn't supply enough, but I'd guess it is worth the money for a chunk of aluminum with a few holes in it.

As far as the rest of the install. . .there are a bunch of us on the forum that can help you out, but Terry will be of great help too! So, you're in good hands.

starflare21 I also have that problem, If you have a spool kit call Terry he'll help you out. Spools tech support is great I'm sure he can help you.

thanks guys. got sent the wrong stuff (pipes that fit the equal length, not the log style i was sent). no biggy, just wish i didn't have taken all apart the car since it's my daily driver... LOL :p Terry has been very great in tech support.

as for the radiator hose issue, i'm going to take it to my friend who also welded the oil return nut onto my oil pan and see if he can fab something similar to the beavis block. i wanted something like this kind of all along since i have samco sport hoses (really would like to keep these). also need to wrap up my downpipe and maybe the coolant lines in front of the block because it looks like they're real close to the turbo and might get pretty hot.

thanks again! if any of you still have pics that'd still be great. :D

well, to tell you the truth... sadly it's pretty depressing. my friends (mechanics) and I have spent all day fabbing, bolting, unbolting, test fitting, etc. etc. etc. the kit and i still had to tow the car home due to a leaking oil feed line which i'll have to get recrimped hopefully tomorrow. which btw, might i add is super long! (vs. the oil drain line that barely fits. almost touches the downpipe!)

we had to of course like terry had advised to make a small add on downpipe section connecting to either a custom exhaust or in my case the stock one (due to $$ constraints at the moment). i also had to jerry rig something temporary for the lower radiator hose fix (also explained that had to be modified in order to fit) due to the fact of working on the car on a holiday weekend and the local parts stores being out of a lot of parts people had suggested specifically to use. my dumptube also hits the center section of the turbo as i've explained to terry on the phone. he has said he test fitted it before shipping out but i will send pics his way to give him my point of view on the install in the car. i don't want to doubt anyone but pictures can do justice.

i also need to see what spring the wastegate (deltagate) is set at. the sticker on the top says 9 but i'm not sure if that's correct. i excluded the wastegate from my order from spool but another person that i talked to that had a spool kit also has the same wastegate like this, has the same sticker "9" but says the spring rating is for 3-5 psi. anyway of checking? terry?

to add to terry's suggestion box i would have to say directions could be better. updated pics of install and the updated required parts or modifications that is NECESSARY for the kit to run (i.e. modification of the radiator water neck outlet, downpipe, etc.). obviously you can't make a step by step detailed direction list but some things in the directions that i needed to modify that didn't specify when i had already taken off the part and stuck without a car i wish i had known earlier. not everyone gets a chance to read the boards often so i think it'd still be good to know in the directions.

all in all terry has been great with customer service. although things have gone wrong or not the way that i had hoped or planned (they never do right? :p) it still feels a little better knowing spool will attempt to help alleviate the problem.

i just want to get this thing running. it's been pretty frustrating but i'm still trying to hang in there. thanks to all that have helped out with questions and such.

This line has to be looped on the back side of the block.

We test fitted all sections. The oil return we are utrilizing now is 10 inches total length with fittings. And actually this is a bit long our next batch will be shortned to 6.5 inches in total length........so your return oil line is long.....it cannot be too short??

We have beavis blocks on the way, however you swith the outlet upside down and run a longer radiator hose. You can get this from Napa and the PN is FF314 Flex Form 1-1/4" x 30"

Yes the first dumptube was incorrect, the second one should fit perfectly......we test fitted all your parts on our car that sunday and shipped the parts monday.

Open up the wastagate. We send ours out with 3psi springs. Unsure since you sourced yours out from somewhere else. But it should have a green colored spring in the gate.

Thanks we will look into updating this:)

Here are the pics of what the beavis block looks like
