update time! sorry yall, school has been more than nuts, and with exams coming up, there's not really much hope of an update very soon either. here's what's going on. EDIS is STILL not in. I left it at home so I wouldn't be tempted to work on the car with exams looming up ahead. The car did make 240whp on a dynojet though, as you can see. I don't have a scanner, so i just took a digi pic of the graph. Car is running great, I'm working out my cranking numbers to get the car to start up first try in cold weather. It always starts, it just sometimes takes a bit longer.
I'm running Megasquirt in MAP mode because I'm running i high-boost setup. MAF is indeed much more accurate and user-friendly for NA and low boost. There is probably a better way to do MAF tuning than with MS though. It's really made for high pressure. not to say it's not meant for it, there's probably something better out. Hard to beat the price of MS though!
Mazdaspeed626, you lucky piece of crap! ignition is going to be so rediculously easy on that thing! wow. I'm jealous. I can provide you with configuration files if you would like them. They're probably not incredibly useful unless you have an injector flowrate around 440cc/min though. Lemme konw if i can help out in any way with your install!
QCMSP, that is confirmed. without heavy modification, MS isn't set up to handle multiple-coil drivers. With MS-II, there is some work being done to program for multiple coil drivers, to accomidate virtually any system. As of yet, though, it's not possible without an additional control module (like the ford EDIS system or the HEI 7-pin system).
Innu_Qc, yes, I pretty much just tapped into most sensors and such. I disconnected the injectors from the stock computer at the injector, and connected them directly to MS. other than that, it was just finding a good power supply, using tap-splices on coolant and air temp sensors, and going from there. Good luck.
More updates soon. Sorry, but you'll probably never see a time slip for this car. I start dropping the clutch and the diff will pop. guaranteed(i've already done it once). I'll post some times from VIR though! And some autocross results...
Hasta luego,
-Mateo
