anyone use a kartboy shifter in msp?

I have one and paired with the bushings the shift has become AMAZING (remember to get a kartboy shift knob as the stock one doesnt fit the new shorter shifter)

yeah i ditched the stock shiftknob for a mazdaspeed leather one. i live in new england ad the metal got way to cold. % wise how much shorter is the shift?

It seems about 10% or so shorter but you cannot even imagine how much more solid and nice the shift is made with the shifter/bushings

SYKO.XERO So you replaced the entire shifter then, to include the new bushings and it's a shorter throw then the already short MSP shifter????? If so, I'm ordering this right now.

if you like to keep your stock shift knob you might wanna get B&M shifter with Kartboy bushings.....work great.....very solid shift feeling and makes the throw shorter by a LOT.

Cool, thanks man. I'm going to look into this, I love short throw shifters.

Does the B&M or the Kartboy actually shorten the height of the shift knob itself?

I am perfectly familiar with how a short shifter works, but I'm interested in whether the actual position of the shifter changes.

If you specify that you have an MSP, Kartboy will threader the shifter so you can keep your stock knob.

i had the karboy shifter in my msp and you can have him thread it to keep the stock knob. and also the shifter handle is shorter.

B7M actually makes it a little longer, which i like even better, cause it's perfect to rest your elbow on the armrest and easier to shift at the same time.......you have to feel it to understand it i guess....hehe but trust me its worth the money....imo

Here are a few shots I had taken to give you an idea of exactly how short the Kartboy shifter/knob combo is. This is next to a standard size spray paint can...

I'd say the bushings are most important for the MSP. on the P5 it reduced the truck-like throw and also stiffened it up. I got the knob too which I really like although some people don't like this type. I think it's best for the most reliable shifting technique

i ordered mine last week along with the bushings and some of their exhaust hanger.

i got a free shirt too. woo hooo!

i will be puting them some time in the next week so i cannot vouch for the shifting yet; i can say that tom is a an awesome guy and they ship really, really fast.

you will not be disappointed

Well sounds good. Guess the only choice now is whether I go with Kartboy for what looks like stock height or the B&M which would bring it closer... both are tempting.
