Been thinking about it since i am going for a whole blacked out theme.
yeah i've seen the how to on painting the inside of the light.
and i probably will do that.
but if i could just get away with tinting it instead...then....why not right?

anyways, tried the search gave up.
And im just looking for either some pics of it done, or some wise members to tell me why i SHOULDN'T do it!

Thanks Gentlemen! (pics)

Unless your going for a HID conversion I recommend against anything blocking light output. Our stock bulbs are pretty wimpy as it is. Looks are not worth it IMO.

If you have your heart set on the look, invest in some precut vinyls. For a few bucks more you have the ability to remove them if you decide you can't see well enough. Replacing our headlights is EXPENSIVE.(yupnope)

s***.
thanks for the heads up.

as for the HID's.
I saw a thread somewhere around here about the HID's from DDMtunning.com.. i think they were like 50 bucks a pair or something??
anyways.. would those be the type of HIDS ur talking about or are u talking about the HID's with projectors retro fitted?
If so, thats way to expensive for me. i'd rather get the 50 buck deal!

I was talking about conversions. Simply installing brighter lightbulbs wont be enough to penetrate the tints. The reason we can black out our tails is because the light output needed from them is minimal after all, your not illuminating several hundred feet of ground behind you.

Matt V was making some awesome retrofitted projectors a while back.. not sure if he still is but poke around the FS section. They look pretty slick on a black car.

I really wish i could do matt's lights but i just can't afford them at the moment I might just have to deal with painting the inside light housing black. :(

just go with painting the inside, trust me its not as bad as you would think. i did it and i consider myself very unlucky when it comes to modifying my car, and it turned out to be one of the easiest things to do, plus the results were great and i get compliments all the time for them!

I think it looks cheap to tint the outer lense...it shows more craftsmanship to paint the inside or put on a retrofit like whats been suggested. not to mention they wont work and youll get tickets out your asshmole.
