I just bought his MS so I'll be able to let you know how I like it once it arrives and I can install it. I have been looking forward to getting it, his came along at a good price so I couldn't pass on it.

Not sure about the rest of the car, but engine-wise I think that you'll be happy with his car as his set-up was pretty sweet. I was planning on running his setup before I decided to trade my MSP on a MS3.

I am not buying his car, just the megasquirt

Yeller can help you quite a bit, but so can the people on the MegaSquirt forums. For when I talked to Yeller, its retty easy to wire up and get running. I just wish they would bump up the resolution of the maps.

yeah I have been a member on the forums for a while now, never posted just read a lot, and Matt has been answering a lot of questions I have. Luckily i also have a friend who is running it on his GRM miata and I autox with MegaSquirts SE Rep

sorry to thread jack, but you might find some of my trivial questions helpful.

I am looking into which WBO2 to use, AEM, NGK, or Innovate. I gotta say I am leaning to the Innovate due to it's ease of wiring into MS. Any comments on that subject?

I am.

I'm using a Vr2.2 MegaSquirt and Spark with a Ford EDIS works great! Easiest standalone I've very used and I've used a lot of them. And at a tenth of the cost. FYI the ZM motor already use the EDIS ignition system so the 35/1 tooth wheel is already on the car ready to go. FYI to make it really easy to install get the relay board and the pre-made harness one for the EDIS set up, one for the relay board to ECU, and pre-terminated cables for CLT, Injectors, IAT, etc to the relay board and you'll have the car wired and running in a day. First read the entire MegaSquirt how to http://www.msefi.com/index.php and have a really good upderstsnding of how EFI works.

Consider the Zeitronix zt2 WB02 as well. Great product for great price. Ran one on my MSP with no problems. It had a great LCD screen with it as well. I think it would fit in well with the MS theme.

Thanks for the link, I actually like the looks of that. I will do some more research with it and see which one of those really fits my bill.

The PLX M300 is about the same price of the AEM, but more accurate from what I've read. It also has a narrowband/data output for logging. I have one in my car right now and its very easy to install.

I've been thinking of the MS off and on for awhile now. Its a good system with lots of support. For the money I don't think anything comes close.

It really is man, right now a buddy and I are trying to get a hold of a wiring harness to use the plug for the MS, that way I don't need to cut up the OEM harness. Thats just asking for Gremlins you know. I'll be sur eto post up my progress when I get a chance to work on it. I am installing hardwood floors now in the house, so I had to take a break from the car for a bit.

The PLX-M300 is the gauge I was probably going to go with, but the only thing stopping me is that as much as I like the digital display, I'd like to have at least a bar display to go along with it..

Something like this: Lean[][][][][][][][][][][][][]Rich

I just worry that with the PLX M300 I'd have to constantly watch the gauge to be able to tune.. which if tuning on a dyno wouldn't really be much of an issue I guess.

I installed my Megasquirt in my 98 626 last week, runs great, my friend is a decent tuner and has tuned it pretty damn good as of yet with the nbo2 sensor. I can definatley tell there was an increase in power with the install. I HAVE an innovate o2 sensor and controller (LC-1) just waiting to go in, but i've been busy with work and school so i haven't had time to install it. I'll let you know how it goes once i do the install which should be tomorrow.

I'm running Megsquirt 'n' Spark Extra code 029t on a v3 board running igntion straight from the megsquirt using the wheel decoder mode and stock 36-1 wheel on our cars as the trigger wheel. Runs real strong, only problem i'm having right now is getting it to start when its cold outside. I'm about to go out right now and test my new cranking pulse widths....also my dumbass didn't set the dwell control parameter for ignition so....ya.

PS not to thread jack, but i just won the ebay auction for the partial mazdaspeed protege turbo kit from protege garage. i'm stoked.

sweet, i had a 97 626 that I wanted to work on, then a highschool girl pulled out and took the front end, thats how I ended up with my speed though! good luck with the msp turbo install

After looking through the OE wiring diagrams, this is going to be easy. I'll have to find a way to control the alternator and A/C as those functions are performed by the stock ECU, but that won't be a problem. It'll be quite easy to build this into a plug and play solution with both fuel and spark control. If all goes well, I might even be able to fit it into the stock ECU case.

u can do it with any standalone ems basically. i made the aem pnp, u get a light but its not that bad to do, just soldering on those tiny pins sucks. id love to see pics of the finished unit.

y not just make it a piggy/standalone like the microtech and such, cause then u dont have to worry about losing control of the AC or alt (u can just get a diff alt) but the gauges wont work either so it seems like a pita to remove the stock ecu all together.
