Apparently it is somthing you put over you CAI to prevent water from getting in it? If not what is the best preventitive step for this. I have the MAZDASPEED CAI is this a probelm with these?

those are more effective agains spray exposure and to keep dirt of your filter longer. They are a good thing and worth the money IMO just not as a hydrolock prevention thing. The best way to prevent hydrolock is to use common sense and do'lt drive through water that you think may be too deep.

Injen makes a Hydro Shield as they call it. It is a slip over the filter that helps keep water out. SU has them for $25 or something and they fit over the MS CAI filters...

I think what you are refering to is also called a pre-filter.
You can buy them almost anywhere a CAI/SRIs are sold. Just be sure that the shape of the prefilter is similar to the shape of the filter itself.
