Anyone have the IceLink and PIE adapter?

I installed the PIE adapter->IceLink->iPod last night in my 3, and although the adapter is working for both charging the iPod and line-in, I can't get the cd-changer controls on the stereo to control the iPod. The iPod also doesn't power down when the car powers down. Any ideas? I double check all the connections were firmly in place...
