Anyone have pics of an AEM SRI or any other SRI installed?

I need an intake that will increase power and spool, but still use the BPV lines and not move anything around in the engine bay. I really don't want to do a custom just for a tiny bit more horsepower for mega money. I'd like to see how those are going in.

Every intake that I know of requires relocating the coolant reservoir. It's no big deal, you use the same bracket, and just bolt it to a different hole in the frame.

Illegal for our racing class... can't touch it apparently.
How is it illegal? You are using the stock part. Then just loosen the bolt and turn the bottle.Same bolt hole and bottle.
I dunno?

Why dont you just do a cone filter?would that be against the rules.Or a panel K n' N?

What about those?

appartently the fans throw hot air into it.....either way u can works something out..i was thinkin to just run a flex pipe fron the callaway snorkel to a source outside the car :)

We got word from the big rule cheese at SCCA that the wording "the existing structure of the car may not be modified for the passage of ducting from the air cleaner to the engine inlet" can mean that nothing inside the engine can be moved to allow the injen to sit in place.

So we've been trying to find other solutions. Thinking is hard.

Right now I have a K&N drop in filter in place with the stock airbox... everything get so freak'n warm during autocrossing. One day last summer the stock airbox got hot enough to feel pliable if you bent it. That just can't be good for continued power delivery.

yeh im plannin on runnin sts or stx and i noticed the rules too.....can u add a longer extension to the snorkel on the stock box??? at least get some outside air inthere....also tea...how do u like the rotas? i was thinkin about them but i wasnt sure if they were worth it?

$125 for a 13 lbs wheel not worth it to you? Good luck finding a better bang for your buck than slipstreams. I love them.

there's an inlet for air into your airbox. you can try to make this bigger, then attach some dryer ducting down into the fender. that will help. remove the foglight and attach the ducting to the foglight hole. that will help even more.

Removing the foglight would be illegal for the class. I might open that hole up a bit more though.

The line regarding "body kits" in the rule book wouldn't cover removing the foglight?

That interpretation seems a little too harsh considering that the resevoir is not structural like frame, suspension, or body. That rule seems to be limiting cutting holes in the car, but you can't fight God on this one :) Plus, wouldn't removing the air box constitute as modify the structure of the car since the air box and resevoir are similiar in structural regards?

Yes, but the rule states you change out that airbox specificly so it dosn't count. We had to get clarification from Doug Gill to make sure what the wording meant... and apparently its a damn stupid rule because you can move your battery but you can't move your overflow tank.

I got my rotas from machiii.net but the purchase didn't go very smooth. First they had a fire that destroyed one of my wheels, delaying shipping.. then it took rota a while to get a new to them. But we paid $970 for the four rotas, four falkens and they gave us super light way geek out cool lug nuts with the package... in black to match the wheels. I probably won't buy from them again though.

Gray area. Non optional lighting fixtures are not specificly mentioned and therefore not allowed. Otherwise taking out the fogs could help us lighten the front of the car by a few pounds.

Oh plus I'm told there is sheet metal behind those fogs and they don't contribute to airflow.
