Anyone getting shocked by their MS3?

It doesn't happen all the time, but there a good chance when I'm getting out of the car that I get a small shock. Feels like static electricity. Is this something common to the car? I have an after market stereo system, other than that the car is stock. I'm confident that the system is installed correctly, but maybe I should double-check that?

This is common for alot of different cars. The best thing i've found to avoid getting shocked is hold on to the top of the door (touch metal) WHILE you get out of the car.

Mine does it to me every single time I get out of it.

ditto. i've gotten so used to it that as i close the door after getting out, i touch my elbow to the door to receive the shock. less of a surprise than the finger tip. :D

I get get zap all the time..it comes from ur clothes..u have to use that bounce static cling sheets when u dry ur clothes..its the worst when its cold out..i close my door by pushing the window when its up..

Static Shocks

Sure perks you up when you least expect it ! (flash)

lmao i get shocked every time i step out of the car. lol i just swing the door open, get out, then push the door by my palm(dont want finger prints lol)on the pillar thing.

Me too! I hates it! The only good thing about the crap-tastic air quality in LA was that it reduced this effect - but now that I'm in slightly-less-craptastic SLC air, I'm zapped all the time.

For what it's worth, the neutered VW Rabbit that I'm rockin' (while my baby gets bodywork done) is doing the same thing! I had thought it was the fabric-leather combo of my GT seats, but the uni-cloth Rabbit seats are doing the same thing, so....

I haven't been shocked even once in mine. I live in Florida though and by the time I get outta the car, she is satisfied (shady)

I too use the elbow. Less sensitive area to get shocked lol
Heh, same here. Shocks me every time.

Fun little fact, for every millimeter your finger is away from the car and you still get shocked, add a kilovolt. So if you get shocked with your finger 3mm away from the door, then that's 3kV! Mmmmmm, crispy...

LOL JUSt read this...It happens in the Pros too I wanna say. It's definitely something to keep you on your toes. I love hearing girls scream s*** when they get out of the car and touch the car again. LOL It's hilarious I wait for it.
