i actually posted up a thread on mesh grills last week. with all the help/information i got from you guys i decided to lean towards majority and make my own mesh grill by visiting the good old home depop.
however, when i was washing my car today, i figured, my stock grill isn't too bad lookin. yet, since my car is a silver color, i thought maybe painting it to another color would give it a NEW look. have anyone ever done this? or even if not, i would like peoples suggestions. would the paint not last? do you think it will look ugly? if not, what color would go best with silver car? metallic silver?
hit me back people.
thanks!

black out the mazda emblem.. and paint the black thick bar across the top sunlight silver metallic so it matches ur car.. member uclap did this. looks awesome.

just take a look at my SIG

I got my grill painted by a body shop, it cost about $60. It looks good, much better than the black, imo.

Wow, that white looks awesome LapisBlue(wow)

I wonder how that would that would look on my white P5...

I painted my stock grill today after i had it. I sanded it down, primered, and painted it silver (i got a silver car). Imagine that blue p5's grill on a silver car.
I sent like 15 dollars in paint and it looks so good, but i kept the emblem chrome. I want one of the MSP's emblem.

Is is very hard to sand inside the diamond shape of the grill?
How did you do it?

i believe it will look nice, my friend painted his rear window wiper to grey and it looked slick.. u just need the right paint and it looks cool

Black it out. No matter what color p5 you have, this always looks good.

Pair it with some CF goodies and you're money.

Man, the grilles are already black.

It might cool to paint it gloss black though if that's what you mean.

I meant paint the emblem black instead of painting the whole thing a specific color.

My bad: wasn't specific.

Ohhh the emblem. I have a red emblem (see my avatar/signature) and it's sweet.

i wouldnt paint the grill. you should see what lapis's looks like now. :p

the paint chips and its not too pretty.

the reason why it chipped is cz i wanted to take the paint off! and also could have used better paint like i stated before to use paint like used on a washer machine!

thank you all for the replies..

thank you all for your replies..
well, the painted stock grill looks great as i've asummed it to be..
but then my concern now is:
1) best paint color combination for a silver car. can someone post up some pics?
2)what kind of paint to use(lapisblue, what do you mean by paint for washer machines, do they have a specific paint for houst appliances that last long?)
3) who is the telling the truth, lapis or uclap? (haha)
it would really suck to have the paint not last...
4) Rhagel paid $60 at a shop.. Flsilver paid $20 to do it himself.. what are pros and cons?

hit me back people!!
thanks again..

I have removed my grille and I want to just paint the top of it as many members here have already. Can you remove the top portion of the grille? Or do you just have to mask off the rest of the grille and paint the top?

I think I saw someone around here that had pics of painting this part of the grille blue.

This pic shows what I'm talking about.
