When i drive my car and then park it turn it off, then roughly a minute later,i hear air coming out of like a valve in the engine compartment, for like 20sec then it goes away,i cannot locate were its coming from,im thinking its just a pressure release valve for exess air, anyone familiar with this

you sure it is air or is it the turbo wheels still spinning, I personally think it sounds cool, after you turn your car off, at least with me since I have vents in the hood, you can hear the turbo wheels slowing down, kinda neat... but turn the car on, keep the hood open, rev it a little once or twice, then turn the car off, and listen close to the turbo.. it should be the turbo spooling down, and any air might just be a little air being pushed around with the wheel still spinning..

Nope

NOPE im 100% sure its not the turbo spooling down,it sounds like air pressure being released from somewere

yes, it will only happen randomly.... heard others say it happens on their MSP's as well, its like something depressurizing, not sure what it is though

ya, well for me it sounds like air is depressurizing, that is actually exactly what it sounds like, but I guess if it is not coming from turbo area, then I dono, but I would bet on that's what it is, but can't really tell unless you let us know where it is coming from..

for me, not a minute later but right after turning it off I got a whooshing sound
it was the intake manifold gasket. it also caused a faint high pitched whine at load mainly when the car was cold. it also caused a worsening idle, but no CELs.
(dealer) fixed the gasket, all issues resolved!

also

also it can happen after the car is off for 2min ,i def know its not the turbo,im very familiar with that, and i cannot tell from were in the engine bay it is coming from, as i said im pretty sure its the air system depressurizing from excess air

Perhaps it's the brake booster losing its vacuum. If i had a guess, I would say it is vacuum being released, rather than positive pressure.

^^ ya that makes sense, and ya if you hear any kinda of whining or anything like that while driving like Chuck said, watch out for gaskets, I had that when my turbo gasket went, and exhaust manifold was loose, but PAracer seems to have a good idea of what it could be, I don't know if it releases things like that, but would be good to find out, you have all your lines ziptied?
