Anyone changed the door sill trim?

I have the all chrome ones. Not too bad to install, if you buy them and need some help .. I can get some pics together of how I did it.

Most curious about what you wired them to. And if they only come on when the door is open. I was thinking of wiring them to the dome light, but wasnt sure how hard it would be.

I wired mine into the map light assembly. The plug for that has a small yellow clip on the bottom of it. I took it off and slid the wires in from behind with the stock wires, and when I put the clip back on it clamped them down onto the stock wires, so they are in there good. Hardest part for me to get the wire down under my seat, but finally figured it out. From there, easy to connect all of them to that.

Yes they only come on when the door is open or the doors are unlocked .. which you can't see. But all in all, I am satisfied with mine.

Don't know what color your car is, but I thought the all chrome ones looked much better on the white.

a good friend of mine just recently purchased these, only with the red lettering as a present for my birthday. i wasn't too fond of them when he showed me and was a bit skeptical of how ricer it would look, it's growing on me now and i'm going to install them and not hurt his feelings, could you please give me some direction on to what and how these are wired up. thanks.

I ran a wire from my map light panel, down the side and came out under the driver seat where the hole in the carpet is for the vent. From there I use butt connectors to crimp the driver side front and back and an extra wire that runs under my console to the passenger side then butt connected the passenger side front and back to that. I have some old Crown Royal felt pouches and put the little ballists in those, so not to have junk kicking around under there. I can get some pics if you want, need to re-route my wire inside a bit anyway, just let me know.

if you could post some pictures that'd be great 'cause i'm still a little lost.

I will take some when I get home today and post them.

Sorry, camera battery was dead lastnight.

Ok here goes:

I used the plug on my map light assembly.

Using some old speaker wire I had, I ran a wire from this hole to hang out at the windshield. Over by the driver door I took an open metal coathanger and (carefully) pushed it through from the top of the door sil to the windshield. I taped the wire on and pulled it through. When I ran it down the side panels between the doors I pulled it tight up above so that it is all in the headliner.

On that plug there is a small orange clip (on mine anyway), so I popped it off to expose the wires underneath it.

I do believe that the power/possitive was the one in the middle, and the ground the one, well .. the other one connected .. left/right .. however you look at it.

This little orange clip has small grooves in it that hold the wires still I guess.

If you slide the wire in from the back and line them up carefully with the other ones, when you put that clip back on, it will press the wire onto the car wire in there, and will hold pretty tight. I used some electrical tape to seperate the two wires so they don't make contact by the plug. That stuff is terrible when it gets hot .. sticky!

The wire came out under my seat where the vent cut in the carpet is (I have no clue what that wod of paper is .. the back seat is my kids domain)

You can see where I used butt connectors .. the two left side are in with the wire from the map light and they are crimped to another cable that goes across to the other front seat. There, that wire is crimped to the other sil wires.

I will be waiting til this fall when it cools off and I am going to take out my seats and run all the wires and stuff under the carpet.

Hope this helps .. if you need more instructions just let me know.
