Anybody listen to metal?

Being that you are much closer to NY than I, have you ever been to Hellfest? I always plan on going, then something comes up but I have heard it is a great time. Who wouldn't enjoy 3 straight days of hardcore?

i played at one of the hellfests...does that count? heh. hellfest 2000.

Walls of Jericho...awesome. My old roomate saw them play several years ago and I think he honestly had a tear in his eye at the end of the show. I think he was awed by the singer.

yeah, candace is ******* hot. she gets hotter every time i see her, too.

i'll find some pics to prove it to the ones that have no clue what we're talking about.


side story : she was in another local band when she was like 15 called "apathemy", and she would clear mosh pits full of guys three times her size and 3 - 7yrs. older than her. she was rediculous!

I find most people are slightly scared to stare around here if you are blaring metal(lol2)

Was that the first year it was on DVD? It is! Whoa, that's awesome. Did you play with Walls or one of your other bands? Walls of Jericho rocked that show. The lead singer, Candace, was shaking her ass and spitting on people. Hardcore chicks rock.

good to see all these responses, i thought everyone here only liked hip hop or techno. i also like blasting some good melodic death metal here in the bible belt and all the jesus freaks and hip hoppers give funny looks.

It's Kiss for our generation. They can put on one hell of a show, but the crowd they attract kind of suxxx. Lot's of bad attitudes in the pit.

Bah, just saw them Saturday at Ozzfest in Chicago. The pit was awesome - one of the best I've been in in many years (and trust me, I've been around the scene for almost 20 years now).

Lamb of God needs to change their name to BASS DRUMS of God! If I didn't have earplugs, I swear my head would have exploded.

Let me add Otep to the list of hardcore chicks that rock.

Oh yeah, noone will ever be as good as Tool. The end.

Damnit. No luck. I'm trying to find a sound beyond slipknot that I like but the closest sound is all the way in another genre in atari teenage riot. I like hard but not clean. If that makes sense. Produced is fine but not so clean and organized like the rock that came out of the misreable 80's.

Anyone have another suggestion for metal that you would clump with slipknot.

I punched the lead singer in the face in a pit in NY..Hatebreed, Lamb of God, Soulfly, Candiria, E-Town Concrete, SOD, Anthrax, Six Feet Under, Blood for Blood...god i love metal..i wanna go to ozzfest but the only way i can go is if i am in the pit, and pit tickets are $110...

Getting hit by a swinging michrophone at a Converge show is pretty brutal. I've seen a kid get knocked out that way and my friend had a lump on his head for a couple days after a similiar incident. My old band was on tour with This Present Darkness and their merch guy kicked a kids teeth out in Virginia Beach. He felt bad. I broke my bass players nose at a show in the pit. I felt bad.
