Hey guys, anybody have these struts? I know they go for about 760 dollars at corksport.com. Since I'm starting AutoX, I'm going to tune my suspension all the way...So far I got Tein-S TECH springs, and with the adjustable struts...I should be A LOT better. Anybody think that this would be a good combo?

If i do dish out the 700 bucks plus, I'll post pics of the car after the install!

We offer Koni Core Inserts (You would have to provide all 4 cores) They will run $175.00/strut insert and will be a 2 - 3 week process. They are externally adjustable for rebound. E-mail me at sales@propartsusa.com or if you have any questions call me at 818-888-8904. Open 8 - 5 p.m. (pst) thanks. jeff

with all due respect those are the same price as the mazdaspeeds, what makes yours better

I'm not saying that its better or worse because due to the application of what you want the car to do. These Koni's are going to be more aggressive valving than those Mazdaspeed Struts (KYB agx in the front & tockio in the rears). If you looking into autocrossing/road racing and going to run a stiffer spring rate I would go with the Koni's.

I'm sorry, all 4 cores? I don't understand...I'm pretty inexperienced with cars...though I'll be starting auto mechanics school in 3 weeks, and I'll be sure I'll be learning A LOT.

I would like to be able to have my suspension adjustable so at daily driving, it'll be a lot softer, and when auto-x-in...stiffer.

Okay these Koni's are Strut Inserts and we would need the housing to convert them. Being that the valving will be more aggressive you will be able to stiffen them up for auto-x'ing events by just turning the knob located on top of the shock. As far as driving on the streets it would be vice versa and just loosen them for a daily driver. Like how your car rides right now.

i doubt you can still get those MS struts anymore. i know mazda motorsports is out since mazda has stopped production of them (last i heard).

Koni makes a good product, and will probably be the next best thing to good coilovers (which are the way to go since you're stepping out of stock class...STS, i assume?).

Now that's a good point you brought up....i was very happy staying in ESP class...whatever that was...I'm still trying to research the classes, but I've been so busy. Anybody know what ESP class is? I believe it was something like modified street racing or something.

E Street Prepared? i'm almost positive the Protege goes into FSP.

check out www.moutons.org/sccasolo for a brief summary of class rules.

on a side note, you said you were just starting out...? you'll probably have a better time learning if you stay relatively stock..run in stock class or STS. by running the car (close to) stock for a season or so, you will learn quicker and get a better idea of what classes are available and what mods you want to do.
