i dont know about many people, but i LOVE the way the short shifter was when i first installed it...what causes it to loosen up? that being said, what can i do to get it back to the way it was?

man i LOVE that feeling like you have to slam it into gear...i hate the loose crap it feels too stock

I hate slamming it into gear cause I'm always scared that I'm breaking something eventually!

You've still got yer stock tranny, though. They apparently can't take that much abuse, so be careful. Short shifter or not.

i got shift bushings

not the bushings on the bottom, or AT the tranny.....but the ones that go on either side of the BALL of the shifter....that is what LOOSENS UP....as they wear in and you get a little more clearance the shifter works easier.

They all loosen up. I guess you could just keep buying new ones every 10k miles, but that would make no sense.

no it sure wouldnt...i thought maybe someone made some replacements that were stronger...if they lasted 10k miles i would buy them

i heated up my stock shifter and slipped off the little boot and made my own short shifter. i like hard shifts too sometimes and i love it becasue thats what i get with the stock shifter shortened, maybe try that out, put the stock back minus the little boot

You might try getting the bushing (around the ball) hard faced or chromed. This will harden the surface and help to alleviate the (quick) wear. Unfortunately, I bought a B&M SS and the bearing is aluminum, so no hard facing.

Perhaps making a new bearing out of Inconel or other hard alloy would help.....

Time to fire up the CNC :D

i wish i had the knowledge or the equipment to do that...kartboy you would think would make replacement bushings for that...
