Any rubbing issues with P5s on stock rims/tires and 2" drops? What about 205/55/16?

Hi,

I know, I'm starting a lot of threads...but the forum needs a bit of life! :D

I bought some 2" lowering springs and hesitating putting them in...the previous owner put extra large tires on it, which I was hoping to use until they were toast and then replace them)...but eyeballing it, I'm not sure that they will clear.

They're 205/55/16s, so about 10mm wider and 15mm taller than stock...they're fairly chunky Flaken Eurowinters, to boot. Do you think it's going to rub on a 2" drop, or is there enough room to play with that I"ll be fine until they're done and I put new tires on?

Also...any issues with rubbing on stock tires/sizes with 2" drops on P5 wagons?

Thanks!

With stock springs and my experience with my P5 so far my best answer for you would most likely be you're gonna have to go with more low profile tires. After messing with 3 different rim sizes and I can't even remember how many tire sizes the most I could really do was to with 16" rims and not go over 10mm wider. With 17's I had the most normal low profile you could find (To be quite honest I can remember specifics) and with the right road or really over 2 passengers I was scraping. First rims I tried for stock was 18's and I wouldn't recommended it ever. So that 1 inch made a difference. Now I would imagine there are ways around it, but to be quite honest none that I could think of. Right now I'm running 16's with the stock tire size and honestly it rides a lot better in my opinion. I was planning on opening up my fender wells a bit, adding some spacers and widening up the tire but that won't be for a good bit. Budget and such.
