I've had my PP for about 4 years now. Just wondering if there were any others here...

I have my PP as well. It was required for my Air Traffic Control degree!

It was funny too, cause I was REALLY dreading getting it. I was like..."WTF do I need to spend all this extra money for?" but after the fact, it really REALLY helps controllers to see what goes on up there! I know it did for me. And now, I LOVE it! If I had money to spare, I'd still be flying. But, I haven't flown in over a year and a half. I'd like to continue on and get my instrument rating someday when I have the time and money again. I took class in college that was basically instrument ground school, and it was really cool.

I wish they'd do the opposite as well and have pilots spend some time in ATC at a class-D or something. I'd love to spend some time learning about it from the other side of the radio.

You should ask to take a tour of the tower, worst they can say is "no".

Me and a buddy took a trip over to a class d, I think it was the last time I flew. They have a restaurant on the field that you can just taxi to. While we were talking to ground, we said we were a couple of ATC students and if we could get a tour. After a quick pause to ask the supervisor, they agreed and showed us around! I've been up in a B and C before, but it was still cool even though it was on a smaller scale. My degree is in En Route, but I'd work the Terminal option in a heartbeat if they offered!
