My sister graduated from McGill on Thursday so it just happened to align with the F1 race this weekend, so naturally I had to spring tix and have a good time around town!

And a good photo of me, no?

F1 is so hard to shoot, at least from where I was sitting on the front straight in Budapest. Great fun though!

I have yet to attend an F1 race. F1 race + Montreal would be dope. My goal for next year.

I have yet to attend an F1 race. F1 race + Montreal would be dope. My goal for next year.

Being in Montreal for the race was amazing. Its an already fun town, but add the glamor and glitz of F1 to it and the place literally explodes. There were no less than FIVE Veyrons parked on one of the streets closed off. It was nuts. As for the race, the circuit isn't the best for the spectators. The only place really worth watching from is the hairpin (where the pics were taken) and most of the rest of the circuit is next to the river, blocked by trees, or closed off. Plus, unlike F1 at Indy (I went from 2001-2006) where you could go/sit almost anywhere for practice and qualifying, everything is reserved at MTL. Either way, though, going to an F1 race is a MUST DO for any gearhead and/or photographer. I would love to go to Austin later this year, but my ultimate goal is to get to Spa one of these days...

Oh...good news! I just got voted best local photographer by a local contest here. Got me a plaque and everything! The best thing was that I didn't even have a campaign or anything for this. I didn't even know that this was going on until last Monday. Even then, I thought the email they had sent me was spam! LOL.
