I wanted it to be that way. I thought about correcting the distortion but I felt like the pic is a bit more lively and animated w/ the distortion.

its the vertical portions of the buildings not all being parallel. just another one of those things people expect you fix when doing digital photography i guess. this is one example i found.

You see the buildings? How all of them are pointed to the left or right? that's the distortion.

How does one go about fixing it?

Got a sweet Gitzo carbon tripod and mount today. Can't wait to start using them!

How does one go about fixing it?

one way is with photoshop using the transform function. unlock the background if need be, then under edit -> transform..can use distort, perspective or warp to adjust and plum the lines
