No, unfortunately, it was scrubbed with 3 hours to go - a failed heater for one of the Auxiliary Power Units. I got a few test shots with the lens, but nothing really worth posting. For the things I shoot, its too long of a lens to get anything "good" out of, too specific a purpose, IMO. I'll go out and try to shoot a couple things today on my way to the fedex office to drop it off, but unless I'm shooting another air show, or possibly the LAST shuttle launch in June, I wouldn't ever consider buying the lens. Don't get me wrong, its VERY sharp, and reasonably fast, but too specific in its application.

Here's one of the MSP I took with it:

I love my 1-4. In fact, I don't put the 70-200 on that much anymore because I am usually wanting the extra reach. To each his own, I guess! I definitely want to check out a 1.4x converter!

We've got a family of Sandhill Cranes in our apt complex and made for a decent model

Get low man, try to show the horizon in your shots if you can. Always try to be on the same level as your subject if at all possible.

i tried that, problem is, the birds are in the pond in the middle of our apartment complex, so JUST out of frame are cars and apartment buildings.
