OK So its been narrowed down to either Nikon D3100 with 18-55 VR and Tamron 70-300mm, plus a couple goodies(uv flilters for both lenses and a camera bag) for 750. , or canon T1i with 18-55 IS lens and Tamron 70-300mm for canon and some small goodies, uv filters and a new camera bag for $850.......suggestions on what one out of the two?

I'd stay away from the tamron either way...for a cheap zoom the new nikon 55-200 VR is actually pretty nice.

Im getting the Nikon D3100 with 18-55 VR and 55-300VR with the goodies for 949.

Goodies are kind of cheap but its a good start.

and for the canon side, I'd definitely go with the 55-250 IS instead as well. I say that owning the Sigma 70-300...

it's right around $300 for everything. I got Manfrotto stuff, and I know there is cheaper out there if you don't want to spring for the good stuff. My boom is a little bit bouncy unfortunately, so I'll have to address that, but I'm pretty happy so far.

Get a SB-600 or SB-800 used, save money for a prime lens or a larger zoom one, but that depends on what are you going to take photos of.

I want to be able to take shots of anything I want. Vague, right?

Get a pole with a smaller inner diameter?? so you have more metal.
