Any photographers in here?

Action shot capturing their flash.

It's alright. 30fps at 1080. I wanted to do 720 so my computer can handle it better when I'm editing. But I think I just need to upgrade my comp.
Looks good though and it's pretty crisp.

Wanted to ask you guys for opinions though. I'm travelling next year to the Dominican to shoot a wedding. What should I bring and how?

30fps demands a very steady camera. That's all I'll say.

Carry everything on that you can! I'd pack a carry-on sized bag with bodies and lenses and get a backpack for another body and a couple of lenses and a laptop. If you HAVE to check something, make sure you pack it extremely well and put it in a hard case of some sort with a good lock on it.

i dont think ill ever get to some of your guys status. but i just picked up a d5000 two lens kit. 18-55mm vr lens and 55-200mm vr lens. also bought a 35mm lens. a lot to learn yet. but i love the camera so far.

pretty good pic i think for owning the camera for like a day lol. cant wait to learn more.

Suggestion: Get closer on the subject. You obviously want to display the water fall there so zoom closer on it. That will make it the focal point. Also try getting at better angles such as lower to the ground or shooting low and from one side. It helps emphasize the subject and sometimes exaggerate the size making things more interesting.

No offence, but that looks like you walked by and said "hey cool" brought the camera to your eye, snapped the picture and kept walking.

Always room to grow man, and please take anyones words here with a teaching attitude. We are all too invested in photography to just flame people.

oh i dont doubt there is more i could have done. i just wanted to snap a pic of it all together. was more of a working with the aperture setting to smooth out the waterfall. i have other pics...i just like this one regardless of what could have been done. i appreciate the pointers though..thats why i subscribed to this thread. like i said...this was actually the first day of shooting with the camera....so i know its not much in terms of photography.

Another thing as well...there's only a certain aperture a lens works really great in. After that, you start losing a lot of sharpness. Like my fisheye works really well at F8 and F11. Anything before or after is too soft. After that you'll have to start stacking filters to stop down your camera in broad daylight to get the effect you wanted.

upgraded to a 40d from my puny 350d :D
