Any photographers in here?

Bought the wife a Canon EOS Rebel XS kit w/ the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lense last week for Christmas. Again, initially was for her but I ended up hoggin it and not wanting her to mess with it, lol. Soon after grabbed the Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Zoom lense to get me started.....was afraid to drop $600 on some of the nicer ones. Id rather get the hang of everything first.....

To get the wife satisfied i bought her the point & shoot Canon SD880 to carry around with her. Shes happy again :)

Wow.. that is the exact same thing I did. Bought the XT w/ kit lens, then got the cheap 75-300 lens. Now I only have the kit lens and my 60mm 2.8 lens.

next one im getting is the 50 1.4f lens.

If you are talking about my picture, I managed to get a bunch of lifting pictures that day. Need a better camera with a faster FPS to get better ones.

You do? I thought you had an SLR already?

EDIT: your XT can grab those shots. It's the reaction time between our eyes, brain, and the trigger finger that slows the camera down.

agreed but its not so easy on something moving that fast, more fps would help for sure

that seems to be the chioce of most entrelevel-moderat expirenced photographers. lol most of the photography studens go that route. I'm pretty impressed with mine. I love Cannon. IMO they are simply the best for al around quality. What really impresses me is unlike my nikon no matter how high the picture resolution you don't get that kinda blurred dot tecture to the photo. my nikon does that and my fujis have all done that. accually the only cameras I've owned that havn't were my cannon rebel XT, and konica minolda cameras. (Z-1, DiMAGE 7I and maxxum 7d[that one is still made only now it's under the sony name]) If i get a chance i'll definitly post some pictures with my minolta DiMAGE 7 it's still m y favorite after 5 years. I love how vibrant the colors look with it.

And Nutari thatt last one is haystack roock in cannon beach oregon correct? I like that photo but just my nitpicky opinion The mist is rawing from the mood. was it pretty windy there?

I accually dissagree. especially since the human eye only sees somthing like 30-35fps on average. your reaction time is simply not fast enough to warrent crazy shutter speeds. that's my opinion anyway. just about any SLR can take amazing pictures at high framerates.
