Any photographers in here?

yes, love the dramatic, contrasty lighting. also a nice, sharp exposure. and, as i've mentioned, i think you tend to crowd the frame too much. as in: the image being too close to the edge of the frame. this one is actually a bit better than a lot of others you've posted... but when the frame is crowded it makes it hard for my eye to flow around the image. i feel like my eye is boxed in and keeps bouncing off the edge of the photo... just needs a little more room to breathe.

I'll definitely keep that in mind. I've always been afraid to leave too much free space hanging around the frame, mostly because I learned photography by shooting airplanes, and a nice, tight shot is more desirable with them for both a technical and an artistic point of view. Many times I'm limited by my surroundings when I shoot.

One thing I need to work on is photographic flow, and how the viewer's eye moves around the frame. Once I can understand that better, I think I'll be able to accomplish what you're suggesting.

Thanks for the props guys!

Damn it's been a year or so since I've looked around in this forum, but I guess it was meant to happen since I got into the Z... Anyways I always like to see what you guys are up to, a lot of talent around. Attached are a few I've worked on this year for a few clients, all the way to your local enthusiast to the hard core race shops to drift events... Definitely love to take pictures specially love it when it takes me out of the desk from designing. On to the pics

Let me know what you guys think and keep up the thread!!!

And three, how do you get the shots of the cars turning (as well as the Porsche shot)? I've always wondered the secret behind that...

Great pictures man!

WOW! Amazing shots! What set up are you shooting with?

Gear used is D300 or D2x.
As far as lens I have to stop buying lenses and start buying more parts for the Z lol.... But each lens has their specialty and each is as important to obtain the right look / effect.

Lens:
10-20 HSM
30mm f1.4
50mm f1.4
18-200 OS
17-50 VC f2.8
24-70 f2.8
84mm f1.4
135mm f2.0
80-200 f2.8

Thanks glad you liked the pictures, as for the motion shot of the 370 and the Porsche those are rig shots. Basically I attach two suction cup to the vehicle and place an aluminum pole with a magic arm on the oposing side that attaches to the camera. Normally the cars are pushed but there are times that I don't have an assistant so we have to drive the car. Hope this helps

Very Very Impressing lens set up!! I with I had HALF of your equipment, but what are you using in the lighting department? Strobes? Triggers? I want the nitty gritty details lol

javo, outstanding shots! lots of really good looking material there. hard to find much to critique... unfortunately, the shot of your own car is the weakest one. not nearly as dynamic and meditated as the others. looks more like you just pulled over and took a quick shot for the hell of it. other than that, the camero shot is the only one that bothers me. the subject itself looks great, but the background is cluttered and fuzzy. billboard on the left, random car on the right, almost too much skyline/sunset going on. if you are going to highlight the background that much it should be in focus(read: higher depth of field). it should either be completely out of focus and thus purely textural or in focus and part of the shot. just slightly out of focus makes it look sloppy. anyway, the bottom line is that i'd like to see a tighter composition and higher depth of field on that one.

I kind of agree with it's yellow on that one only I though the lighting was a little too harsh. Sure you want the car to stand out but it that picture it just come out and slaps you in the face. The colors of the photo just don't jive that well. Only thing I really saw.

Love the Evo and the Viper btw.
