Theres a lot of really good photos in this thread good work to everyone.

I have a Nikond D50 with the regular 18-55 and 55-200 kit lenses and I also use the SB400 and SB800 speedflashes. HDR is a lot of fun, has anyone tried infrared? I got a Hoya R72 filter and its pretty tough but you get some interesting results.

I recently used my bosses D300 with a 14-24mm VR lens, made my camera look like a disposable. Too bad all my extra money goes into my car or I know what I'd buy.

so i placed my order right now with adorama

rebel xti, 18-55mm kit lens, 70-300 tamron (non image stabalization), slinger bag, extra battery, 2gb cf card, and tiffen uv, flourescent, nd filters for 857 shipped.

Nice..one gripe..if I was getting a telephoto lens, I'd go with a model with IS. Just because they're hard to handhold and shoot if you're in a low light situation. A lens that big without IS is good for middle afternoon, sun is super bright type of condition. Just my 02 cents. I have a 75-300mm IS Canon, and it's hard to get a good pic late in the day at anything slower than 1/30 with the IS off. Just something to consider for anyone looking to buy tele lenses.

yeah. for now, i just couldn't justify the price hike for IS. believe me, i really really wanted it. hopefully, i can get back into shooting, learn the camera, and upgrade later on.

Some of my stuff over the years. I've been in the Navy for the past 12 years, Jet Engine Mechanic. Currently a Recruit Division Commander at the Navy's boot camp in North Chicago. Spent most of my life in beautiful Jacksonville, FL. Always been a huge photography nut. All the shots were take with an old Olympus C-765 ultrazoom 4.0mpxl. Not an SLR by far but did good for a long while. I'm in the market for getting a new Digital SLR. Still shopping around. I want something thats good in low light. Any suggestions welcome. Anyway, here's the shots...

Nice pics every one. Does any one have a canon powershot a510?
I have one that was given to me but i dont know what all the buttons are for so some help would be appreciated.

Look through the manual for the camera. That'll tell you how to adjust the settings, and then search for how to use those settings on the internet.

What's a good place to buy lenses from? I had to send one of my lenses in for repair, and it's gonna be cheaper if I just buy a new one (Nikkor 55-200mm). I'll also want to buy a wide angle lense because I'm going out to Las Vegas in the summer and I think I might need it. I also need one to use when I'm just shooting other stuff to. I've always just bought my stuff from Wolf Camera because of the convenience, but I'm hoping to buy cheaper elsewhere. Thanks
