Any photographers in here?

That is sexy!!

Here's one I snapped today. Wireless trigger, 430EX, Fong lightsphere directed at me, about 8 feet away at 1/2 power, flash zoom at 24mm, lens zoom at 18mm, iso 200, f3.5, 1/15 shutter speed to bring out the background a bit.

how does the light diffuser work for you? i see adds in mt photo mags all the time for it but i don't know anyone that uses one. heard that they are semi helpful. seems a little pricey for a piece of plastic although.

I like it. I'm still learning how to use it..but judging from the dvd that came with it..it's pretty easy to use. Well...you can tell from the pics and judge for yourself. I'm starting to like it more and more and it definitely helps soften the shadows. Light has a bit more warmer feeling.

cool where did you get the coupons? I might be looking for one ;) lol

Well, I was looking around for the promotional DELL 20% off coupon that was sent around through email, but I couldn't find it. So from advice on the Canon forums, I went looking on ebay. Not the safest way to do it, but i bought the 20% off coupon from a seller that had over 200 positive feedback (100%). It only cost $16. I noticed that he sold DELL 10% off stackable coupons as well, so I picked it up for $19. I would've preferred to not spend any money buying these coupons, but the total savings makes up for it. :)

If you have an AMEX card you can use your points to get $50.00 off accessories @ Dell.com (not sure if it can be combined with other deals though). You can also get $100.00 off a new computer or TV assuming you have enough points available.

Nice indeed. Look at that shipping date!

LOL, i know!!! but whatever, I'm still content with my Rebel XT... so its not like I don't have a camera now. I ordered it on the last day of the 20% off promotion. So I assume anybody who ordered earlier than me got their's shipped out. I just hope it comes before xmas. Some people on the Canon forums have gotten the same ship date as me, but it changed after a few days and then shipped out. So hopefully that will happen to me. :)

I don't have an AMEX, but I'm sure it could've been used together. I heard people who bought an iPhone on AMEX got the AMEX discount AND the Apple discount when Apple decided to lower the price. I should get an AMEX... one of the free ones. hehe

Shot this last night:

Pro1.jpg

Rebel XT, RAW, 100 ISO, 5.6, 3s Shutter, Tripod.

Did a little fine tuning in Bridge, but I was surprised not much post needed to be done.

I love your guys' shots, keep it up! I need to invest in a 430ex next.

Get the 580EXII

And was there a couple of lights? What's the lighting setup like in this shot?

My garage light and stair lights :D

580? A little pricey for me. Seems a little advanced for what I do haha. Amateur with a huge flash blinding people!

I have a 430EX and it is a good flash. Honestly, if you are not using the power of a 580EX, then save the few hundred and get another lens. Alternatively, you can pick up a used 580EX for about $300+. That's a bit better than retail pricing. You can also combo your flash and set up a two flash setup, a 580EX and a 430EX (that's what I'm aiming for).

Or get wireless triggers and receiver from MPEX for about 70 bux, and you can get used Nikon SB26 flashes for dirt cheap and use those as your slaves. Or buy used 580's. I find the 430 isn't enough for me

I use the 580EX, 430EX and 420EX for speedlites and an Alien Bee B800 strobe. No issues with any of them. The 430EX is more than capable for most flash situations when compared to the 580EX.

i have been looking at picking up a 430 ex for a while now. i think that that would be enough for what i need now. I just need to take more photos....

do you just have the 580EX triggering the 430 and 420? or do you have wireless triggers... like the Pocket Wizards or something?

I use the 580EX as the master to trigger the others. The PW are overpriced and overrated. You can buy these for much less:

The only drawback is a flash sync speed of 1/200 instead of 1/250 with the PW (for Canon users), which isn't an issue unless you're shooting outside mid-day.

yeah the PW are crazy expensive, those ones you linked above is what I will be ordering, I have heard they are good and obviously very cheap

Actually guys..the revised version still has problems with the 430EX. I still get misfires on mine. But...they work well enough, and they have a great range. I think about 20 feet indoors and about 10 feet outside without interference. I shot my last 2 pictures on the previous pages with them.
In the future I think I'm gonna get the Wizards instead.

Regarding the flash sync..for those with XTi or XT are still ok since our cameras only go up to 1/200 in sync anyways.
