Any other alaska folks?

Depends on what you do. Things are pretty good, if you can handle the winter. When we moved up from L.A., it was January (70 and sunny to -15 and overcast in about 8 hours). If you can make it to June, you're set.

If you're in oil or the military, you'll be sitting pretty. The import scene is a little bigger than you'd expect to see up there, but it's primarially Hondas and Subaru's.

You might be in luck. Heard somewhere that Anchorage is the third "Most wired city" in the nation (behind Houston and San Fran). Since almost everybody is up on the internet and some of the bigger companies there (BP, Conoco Phillips, Wells Fargo, bunch of financial companies too) you might have a good shot of getting a job up there.

Sorry everybody. I'll quit thread jacking. Back to the original topic:

Does anybody up in the great state of AK own an MSP?

Anybody whenever you visit Anchorage, three places to check out:

Great Alaskan Bush Company...the name says it all, total nudey bar. No tops, and no bottoms.

Chilkoot Chairlies..... We cheat the other guy and pass the savings on to you. Excellent bar, three stages.

Humpys..awesome downtown bar, usually college hangout. Jewel used to play there. Always good live acoustic going on stage.

Now I understand where my dad got that T-Shirt that's been hanging in his closet for years (since I was like 10 or 11)......The Great Alaskan Bush Company...

He went up there in like 89 I think with the Air Force Reserves....

Now it all makes sense!

I will keep this in mind.....Changing Locations to there may be just what I need in life...I dunno yet! A brotha from the south in Alaska...That would be something different for me...

Yeah... check it out sometime.

Koots is worryin me. My brother got shot at the last time he was there. Guess somebody in his group pissed off a bunch of Samoans and they took exception to that. They F**cked up one of the guys in his party bad enough (before the lead flew) that he thought he was back in Bethel.

Word to the wise... don't stay until close.

Got my Bush Company T-shirt hanging on my wall... reminding me of home and what waits.

Humpy's also is a great hangout for the ConocoPhillips guys on lunch.

Guys also gotta check out the Peanut Farm. Great place to watch football on Sunday.

Oh yeah, the peanut farm is cool also, don't they have a chocolate waterfall.

Also check out the Railway Brewery down at the train station.

Man you guys in Anchorage have it made... try coming up to Fairbanks sometime. I'll show you around... only take 15 minutes! (2thumbs)

Hey all you guys in 907 land,

Happy Thanksgiving.

21 days and counting until I'm done with school and back in ANC for a week.

Enjoy the day and hope it's not too cold for ya.
